Headroom in Nissan Altima Coupe w/ Sunroof?

Hey There,

I just recently picked up a used 2008 Nissan Altima with 67k miles on it. Car is pretty loaded sunroof, heated seats, bose sound system, leather seats, etc.

I had test drove 3 altimas before buying this one (finally got one in my price range), the first one had an aftermarket sunroof installed (nothanks) and the second two were just regular base line cars, which I had 0 problem with the headroom. I didn't realize that with the factory sunroof you lose a good 2 or so inches of headroom. I also don't know if you have the electric seats vs the manual ones if the seat doesn't go as low.

Basically now my problem is, with the seat all the way down, my hair brushes the ceiling when I try to sit 100% upright...I'm not even that tall at about 6'1, but its driving me NUTS! Is there anything I can do about it or should I just end up trying to sell the car myself, I got a pretty decent deal (I think) of $11k for the car. Its frustrating because I LOVE the car, its loaded, drives great, but having my hair brushing the ceiling is driving me up a wall

Shave your head.

Im 6'1" and I have to drop the seat all the way to the floor and tilt it back almost 45 degrees to fit. I also lift the front of the seat up so it supports my legs behind my knees. Its actually comfortable for me, but might not be for others. I should also note that I am in fact, bald.

yea I'm a little over 6'1 with about 1-1.5" worth of hair, I might just try to cut it shorter stinks having to deal with that though, I can recline the seat back but than its just uncomfortable to grab the wheel

Hmm I don't see how you're having this problem, I'm 6'4" and I'm not even touching the roof. Better example Matt Phenom is 6'11 and he sits fine in the car

I dunno I mean, I have the seat all the way down, I can't really recline anymore otherwise I"m stretching to reach to wheel, I can slouch in the seat and be fine, but if I try to sit upright, my hair is touching the roof, it didn't happen when I test drove it, but when I came to pick up it the next day after buying it I immediately had the issue

6'10" here, I have to slouch, but it works for me... my next car will have to have more headroom, but selling ur car because your "too tall" at 6'1" is ludicrous!!!! haha

yea I know, I"m just really really anal about s***, I prob. have OCD, so feeling my hair brushing the ceiling all the time drives me up a wall lol!

Its not that big of an investment, I got a really good deal on this car, I would prob. sell it for a $1-2k profit, but I love how this thing drives so I"m just gonna cut my hair and slouch lol!

Or just tilt your seat down enough so that your hair doesnt touch, and if its uncomfortable, get used to it, you will... I myself am OCD about my hair touching, but I've gotten used to slouching in it, so I don't have to worry about it now, plus my seat is all the way down and back really far, and its pretty uncomfortable.

mines is the same year and model but without the premium package, no leather no heated seats no bose system. got a sunroof though.

got it for 15.5k for 4.6k miles. cheers to our new A/C's!

^^^ This lol, Matt (phenom) fits in his car, not sure what options he has but it cant make a 9 inch difference lol. The first time i saw this happen live i was still confused... Same with Brett (coupecrazy) and his nismo 350z/past owner of a a/c.
