I'm interested in installing some rear headrest monitor for my 2005 Maxima. Any suggestions would be really helpful! Should I go with some new headrest with built in monitors or should I get them installed in my headrest? Any links to specific websites would be also helpful. And if someone could post some pictures that would really be nice!! Thanks

I bought a pair of complete headrests off EBAY a few years ago for $150 and they've been great, plus you et to keep your stock ones in case you want to take them out...

Something like this:http://cgi.ebay.com/2009-NEW-T...0.m14

Yeah, I was thinking about that but then I was worried about color match, I got that cream tan/biege color interior, seems like it would be hard to find a perfect match! The guy at Circuit City said he could install some for me on my OEM headrest, I'm really going back and forth since I want it to look good! If I go that route, do you have any recommendations on any model or screen size that would fit and look good on the OEM headrest? Also, I ran into another site with pictures of your ride, man, your ride is off the chain, looks really good!! Take care and thanks

I am a wholesaler for car audio, I could get you an exact oem color matched headrest with built in monitors....that the best way to go because you dont have to worry about the installer messing up your stock headrest, which happens 50% of the time.

Yeah mine are black so it's a bit easier, even still the leather is quite a bit shiny compared to stock...Sounds like blazncypher would be the way to go with a guaranteed match. What kind of monitors do you use and how much?

No problem! I would prefer just the headrest monitor without the DVD player, I'm gonna run them from my Avic-D3, and yes, 9.5 inches is okay! Thanks and take care

Hey jsmithsole,

Do you happen to remember the model number of the Nesa 7" TFT monitor you purchased for your Maxima or will any Nesa 7" TFT monitor work so I can replace the OEM monitor and move it down? And also, how do you have your Avic D3 installed where it's playing the video through the Nesa screen and the headrest monitors? I just like to have all the information at hand, some of these supposedly proferssionals look at me crazy whenever I bring some idea they've never tried before! Thanks

I think I've decided to go with these headrest monitors, it's the closest match I could find to the cafe latte interior of my 05 Maxima, cafe latte, so freakin stupid!! I looked all across Ebay and really couldn't find anything that hardly matched. Here's a link, let me know what you think, your opinion and knowledge is always appreciated. Thanks

I would like to purchase something this week if possible! Thanks and I totally understand being busy! Take care and I look forward to hearing from you sooner than later!

Yeah I have the NSM 7002, which I see on their site as well. Yes the DVD is hooked up to play on all 3 screens, unfortunately the D3 doesn't offer dual zone like the higher end units but I've gotten used to it (so all you will be able to display is DVD's no NAV screen or function screens from the D3) Those headrests look great and if blazncypher can get you 1/2 off the 1/2 off on the site then for $75 you are set!!!

Hey blazncypher how much could you get JL Audio 10W3v3-410" Single 4 ohms W3v3 Series Subwoofer's for????

I need new subs baaaaaad!

Okay, I'm confused, I need some clarification? When you say DVD, do you mean the DVD playing from the D3 or an external DVD player hooked up to the 3 monitors? I was under the impression as well as told that the D3 had dual zone capability and you were able to watch videos and play other sources like listen to XM radio all at once!! Yeah, I hope he can get me those headrest monitors for $75, that would be sweet! Thanks

The D3 does not have dual zone. I went from an N2 (with) to the D3, never checked or assumed that would be a feature they left out, but they did FTL. I do not have another DVD player just run DVD's from the D3 (actually IPOD movies more so than DVD's). But I did hook an RCA switch up to the camera and the top NESA screen so i can just have the rear view on full time instead of a blue screen which is all you get from the D3 when not playing a DVD or IPOD vid. You can display the NAVI while a movie is playing though but that's it...

Okay, that clears it up, that's actually what I thought but I just wanted to make sure! Hopefully blazncypher will come through for me with the Power Acoustik headrest monitors. I saw the following headrest monitors on Ebay, they look like a good match but I have a couple of questions regarding them and the auctioneer hasn't gotten back with me!!! Thanks
