I found an OEM rear entertainment DVD system (part# 999U8-CV000 ) that fits a 2009-11 generation 2 Murano. I have a 2007 Murano SL with the BOSE system. Is there any way to make this system work in my Murano?

Thanks!

Welcome to NICOclub, glad to have you here in the Murano Forum.

Do you have Navigation on your Murano and are there A/V inputs on the back of your center console?

Navigation system - yes! However, I do not have A/V inputs on the back of the console.

There is certainly a way to make it work, first question is are you going to tackle this yourself or are you hiring a professional. It can be done though!

It depends on how in depth the process is. I was hoping to do it myself. I could take it to a professional, but do not really want to spend $500+ on installation on top of purchasing the headrest DVD system.

have you looked at the factory service manual we have posted here on NICOclub? Researching that would help provide some insight as to what wires to tap into.

Oh, and once you do this mod, I can easily walk you through how to get the video to play on the front screen while the vehicle is driving (so passengers in the front passenger seat) can also enjoy.

In our G37xS, we don't have any screen in the back at all, the kids are both able to see the front screen just fine, my one son will only complain if I am leaning too far over the center console and I obstruct his view.

First thing to check would be whether the distance between the headrest posts are the same in the Gen1 and Gen2 Muranos (I would assume they probably are).

If they will physically fit, then you should be able to install them in your '07... I've just fitted the very same units to my '09 Murano and found that they can be installed without any real integration into the car - all they need is power, which you can tap from a power outlet/cigar lighter. (My kit came with an adapter to plug them into a power outlet, plus a FM transmitter which allows the sound to be picked up by your radio and played through your speakers).

The install instructions are here: http://www.leeparts.com/pdf/999U8-CV000.pdf

It really is a very easy install (took me about an hour) and as long as the headrest posts are the right size and distance apart, they could be fitted in any car- the very same units (made by Invision) are fitted in BMWs, Audi's etc.

Happy to help if you need any more info!
