the light *should* bolt up, however you will have to get the socket for the bulb and cut/splice that in because 97-99 have 9004 bulbs while the 99.5 switched to 9003 bulbs

they are completely different sockets and the 9004 bulb will not secure into the 9003 housing

i bought the wrong silverstars at walmart because of the discrepancy. if you look up bulb # for a 1999 qx4 (by the book or machine in the parts store), it lists 9004 and makes no mention of the change halfway through the year

they didnt want to accept my return because i had opened the package but i was able to prove that their lookup machine was wrong and they credited me.

Thats why whenever I'm looking for parts, I just tell them I have a 98 pathfinder (its a 99, but not a 99.5)

Wait, first, did you make sure the bulb is in correctly?

Assuming you have H4 bulbs, you should have three tabs sticking out, and they should line up in the socket. If any (or all) are mispositioned, it'll throw the aim off. One thing I found out LONG ago, if I managed to put the bulb in with one end of that wire holder between the bulb's base and the socket, the highlight will shine almost straight up or down... so you need to make sure that wire holder has BOTH ends on the outside of the bulbs base.

Once you've made sure those two aren't the case, then you can go for the screw fueler mentioned.
