Headlights Shutoff

[1995Pathfinder]

My daughter's 1995 Pathfinder's headlights shut off intermittently for a few minutes and then come back on. I've checked the fuses and connections and they seem to be o.k.

Any help would be appreciated.

is the switch firm? that could be a floating piece of switch copper in the switch housing. the hardbodys had a real prob with that.

Good point; I'll have to check. I checked over the wiring, pulled apart the dash, went under the dash looking for loose connections and everything seemed fine. The only thing I found was that the negative battery terminal cable was split and I replaced it. The car starts better as if the battery has a higher charge, but I am not sure whether the lights will intermittently shut off. I have the car in for state inspection, so I guess I have to wait. My luck, the lights won't work during inspection.

no prob, if you can figure out a pattern to when they shut off let me know. like going over bumps or something.
