Headlights off w/ car on?

Ok, I'm asking this question on behalf of my friend. She has a 2009 Altima Sedan 2.5

now idk if sedan and coupe are diff when it comes to the working of the headlights. but i can turn my headlights off while car is still running (i have a 2009 altima coupe 3.5SE), but she can't in the Sedan. Now is this how it is with all the 2009 Sedans? Or is it faulty wiring? She said it has always been like that since she bought the car.

thats not supposed to happen. have your friend take it in for service at the dealer to get the problem fixed

yea see, i knew it didn't sound right. a coupe buddy of mine said they don't turn off, now u say they do. guess i'm just gonna have to call Nissan on Tuesday for her. Unless some other ppl can chime in...

I can turn my headlights off with my car on... DRLs will kick in though because I'm in Canada and it's the law (and helps people see you better)...

I have a 2.5S sedan no auto on fancy lights.

I can turn all my lights off when my car is running. I do know that in some states, and canada also like QR25DE said - it is the law for DTRL's to come on automatically when a car is started. Not all of the states require it I think its a select few that require ALL new cars sold have to have DTRLs come on no matter what and the driver cant turn them off.
