Headlights no power

Well im new here been building Mx6 for a while now and just recently picked up a 93 240sx only thing is the headlight have no power to them i checked the fuses and they are fine but there not getting any power either i was thinking maybe the switch is bad casue all my other lights come on and work fine any help would be appreciated

do the lights pop up? Where did you check for power and what did you see on your volt meter?

yeah the headlights pop up and i have turn signals and taillights and i checked for power at the lights them selves and also at the fusebox under the hood but still nothing i dont get a reading at the volt meter at all but i know it works casue i checked other power sources and they all register so right now im at a loss

If you hit the high beams do they light up?

Ok bear with me I am looking at the wiring diagram as I post. You say you checked the fuses in the box under the hood in the fuse box next to the battery? 2 15 amp fuses. You say there is no power to either of those fuses?

thats corrct no power what so ever

ok then there is only one place this problem can be. At the battery positive cable there are a group of small wires plugged into the red block. check for power at both ends of the short wires coming off that. I bet you find 2 of them have power on one side but not the other.

cool man ill check it out see what it does tomorrow if gthats the problem whats the solution to fix it

Those short wires are fuse links they uplug from the battery connector and from the main harness. you just replace them. They are about 3 inches long. not much to them. If your poistive cable is heavily corroded you may not be able to unplug them. In that case its pretty much a new cable and those short links.

Glad you like it, maybe you could sway some of those guys to sell their mazdas, pick up some nissans and come here..lol

maybe ill do that man haha, well i checked that connector you told me bout well it wasnt the fusible links the connector wasnt all the way on it was on enough for the blower motor and things to work but not for the headlights snapped it into place and boom i got lights so thanks for the help man now i just gotta figure out this damn speedo problem not workng and ill be ok

probably the speedo head it self. Not all that uncommon. Search for it there are several threads on it and many different repairs have been successful.
