My 1993 infinity j30 when driving at night with the high beams on sometimes switches to low beam and back and forth. What should I check first?

definently the headlight relay... i would suggest to take it out, open it up, and just heat up the solder on each spot on the board. if ur not comfortable doing that... then replace it.

just to be sure tho, check all the connections on the lights, connect and disconnect them. then with the lights on, wiggle the wires and make sure theres not a short in the wire it self.

First start to check how firm the contact is in the light switch. So switch it to the high and try to slightly shake the witch handle w/o actually switching it back if the contact is not good it should cause the light blinking. If it happens it's the switch. If now then try to knock the relay box with something lightweight. Do not crack the box If you see the light blinking it's the contacts inside. Also the headlight relay has separate relays for both left and right lights. So please try to see it switches off together or separately. If for example the right beam stays on high but the left one switches back to low it's most likely bad contact in the relay module.

crash, it cannot be lights wires as he said that it switches between the high and low. So the wiring to the lights is good.
