only a 2010 and already hazing on me? am I alone here?

My quick solution is Merguires polish wax but it just comes back like a week later. And I really dont wanna do the headlight sanding.

If I do, however, go this route, what are the sanding grits I would need? I think its like 1000-1500-2000 then polish with Scratch-X.

Yay or nay?

Are you definitely hazing on the outside or are you possibly fogging on the inside?
I had one of my OEM headlights fog (inside) after about a year or so. Bad seal. Replaced under warranty.

I have a 2011 and I've been able to see the beginnings of UV deterioration on the headlight film. Every six months or so I have taken a cutting compound on a polishing wheel and removed the damage portion until it was clear. Then I move to a polishing compound and then wax with a headlight protectant. Finally I wax over the headlights every four months when I go over the car. I park entirely outside and my car is always subject to the sun's rays. First noticed hazing within five or six months of owning the car.

DJ- This is hazing for sure.

Alex- what kind of cutting compound do you use?

I use the turtle wax rubbing and polishing compound. My op said cutting compound but that's probably too harsh. I actually use rubbing and then polishing. It comes in an upside down shampoo-like bottle. Like a Heinz ketchup bottle.

HA! Exactly my point.

Toothpaste works as well, VERY slowly. More as a monthly maintenance type of thing. Although, used that frequently, any abrasive would accelerate wear and deterioration of the protective film.

Try to apply a protectant product.

The same exact thing is happening to me. My 2011 just turned 2 years old and has always been kept in the garage out of sunlight, but the outside of my headlights are hazing. Not inside, but exterior of the lights. You can even feel the non-smoothness of the top of my headlights where it is hazed.

Mine has always been outside in filtered light, under trees and stuff, but the hazing hasn't been that bad. That's probably because I keep up with polishing them, but its really unfortunate that yours is having this problem.

I'm sure everyone has seen all of the infinitis driving around with terrible lights. Maybe ours are having the same problem.

I read some where to try peanut butter and then polish them. So I did just that today and it actually worked very well. Spread creamy peanut butter until a haze then let sit for about an hour, wipe off clean, then polish with Meguiars headlight polish. They look brand new. Lets see how long it stays like that.
