Ok, I have a weird headlight problem. The headlights will go up and down fine w/ the headlight. Also, if I press the high beam, the headlights will rotate up & flash lights.

However, if I turn the lights on by turn that switch on the headlight stalk, the lights go on, but the headlights do not rotate up.

From there, I must either press the manual switch on the cluster bezel or flash the high-beams. Once it is up, it stays up as long as the lights are on. I don't have a pivot controller anymore or anything like that. I'm not sure what the problem is.

I'm thinking of cleaning out the headlight stalk contacts this weekend, but wanted to hear if anyone else has had this problem or may know what is causing it.

It's those little things that piss you off, .

***EDIT: when I turn off the light (if the manual switch has been set to off), the lights will retract back. So everything works as normally expected except the part where I turn the light switch on.

i have that exact same problem happening.funny thing is, they go down *sometimes* when i turn off the lamps.

i think its connectors though.sometimes my manual button wont work when its really cold out if i tap on the button. i have to firmly press on it for it to work, like the connectors just arent contacting

I had a similar problem, turn lights on, the lights will pop up fine. Turn the lights off, the lights were not retracting at all, they will stay up until turning the ignition switch off....the problem was in cluster, yes...a bad diode on the illumination patch on the gauge cluster was screwing the signals going to the light control circuit.....

its funny,

WHEN ITS COLD;

i turn on hte lights, they turn on, but do not go up. I have to use the manual override on the dash.

If its warm outside or the car been on for a while, lights work as they should.

So Whats causing that. why can't we turn the lights on when its cold. I have to use manual switch that makes lights to stay up/down all the time.

WHY??

Pop-up lights are notorious for freezing in the down position during cold weather. it doesn't cound like connections at all.

That's always been my take on it, hope that helps!
