I have a 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe with the OEM HID headlights. I want to switch them out for aftermarket headlights but they all say is not compatible with the OEM HID. What does that mean? Can I just install them and use Halogen bulbs? Has anyone with the OEM HID headlights been able to swap it out for aftermarket headlights?

Are you saying you want to remove the entire OEM HID headlamp assembly, and install an aftermarket headlamp assembly that uses halogen bulbs?

Try finding out what kind of power is provided to the ballast for your OEM HIDs, and through what connector. If its just 12 volts and can handle 60ish watts yeah you can run halogens but I'm pretty sure the connector will be non standard for normal bulbs (like H11, H7, 9005, etc).
To install an aftermarket halogen headlight over and existing HID setup sounds like a downgrade too...
If the new headlight can run HIDs it may make your life easier. Sorry I can not help much I never had an OEM HID system.

Is not that is just that my OEM headlamp assembly has alot of cracks and is super faded now. I tried looking for the same ones just replacement and is either way to expensive or is hard to find

Okay...your question makes sense. Have you tried the likes of Ebay, or http://www.lkqcorp.com/en-us/Aftermarket

Installing non-xenon lamps will be relatively easy, you'll just need to do a small amount of wiring modifications to the low beam, since you won't need the ballasts.

ohhh well you shoulda mentioned that. Check one of the newest threads here titled:
2010 Altima Coupe Halo ring install (NEED SIZES)

Thats my thread with my lights. That lens was completely dirty and faded and had a few cracks too.
Now if you mean actual cracks where water leaks in then its done. Other wise those cracks and all that fade can be sanded off and then the light can be resealed. I did it following this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEJbKLZ7RmM&t=240s
Worked great and its permanent, only thing is unlike the video (though he said you could, and i did) i sanded the final clear coat and polished it for a better result i can post pictures of the difference.
I figure rather than pay for brand new lights, pay $20 for sandpaper and clearcoat and have brand new looking lights with left over for another few jobs. worth a try.
