OK- I have been trying to figure this out for a while now, is it possible to reduce the length of time that the headlight stay on when locking the car? I closed and locked the car, and the lights stayed on for about 2 mins before turning off. If it cannot be changed, I can life with it; I just wanted to know if I was going mad.

If anyone can give me an answer, it would be greatly appreciated.

Take a look at Section 2-30, "Instruments and Controls", of the Nissan Owner’s Manual..

Autolight system (if so equipped)

The autolight system allows the headlights to be set so they turn on and off automatically. The autolight system can:

Keep all the lights on for 45 seconds after you place the ignition switch in the OFF position and all doors are closed.

Initially, if the ignition switch is placed in the OFF position and a door is opened and left open, the headlights remain ON for 5 minutes. If another door is opened during the 5 minutes, then the 5 minute timer is reset.

No, it is not adjustable.

Thank you. I thought that I was missing something, just seemed like a really long time.
