My car is a 96 Zenki. When I bought the car about 2 years ago, the previous owner had installed one of those Eurolite "HID" headlight bulbs...

See the weird thing is... There is only one set of bulbs installed (those Eurolite bulbs). There are no bulbs for the highbeam. However, when I turn the highbeam lights on the the currently installed bulbs actually work as highbeam as well.

I would like for this to stop because it sort of melted the wiring harness

What did he do to make the bulbs work like that and if I install highbeam bulbs would it stop?

thanx for all your help.

You can get a high watt socket from Autozone fore these types of bulbs, thats what I did, but the rice bulbs still sucked. The socket withstood the temp, but I just got Silverstars instead and was far happier.

So did you have a similar setup as I did? both lowbeam and highbeam with one set of bulbs?

Do your silverstars work as both low and high?

Just wondering do you HAVE to make some wiring modifications to make one set of bulbs work as both high and lowbeam?

we have 2 sets of highbeems

our H4 is a low/hig in oneand then the 2005 or whatever ~ is a High only.

so when you flip the high on, the 2 highs sould come on and the H4's should switch to high beems as well.

AAAAAAAAA thank you for that answer. That's what I was looking for.

Then how did that small melt-down at the harness occur?

Your using Eurolite aftermarket rice bulbs right? Chances are they are using an excessive amount of wattage over stock bulbs. The stock harness can't handle that kind of wattage, therefore you have to upgrade your harness like I said.

The note about the low beams staying on is incorrect. with the zenki's when you put the high beams on, the low beams go off. I know this because I have hids and when I flash the high's the hids go off. He must have hardlined the ingitor wire for the high beams to the low beams by the fuses underneath the hood. That is not normal that the lows stay on with the highs on the zenki. On the kouki it is a built in feature.

i think you are wrong slide. The lows stay on when the high beams are flashed. The only ones that go off are the fog lights.

I'm with maximus here... I'm pretty sure my lows stay on when I flip on the brights.

Ok.. i was shopping for headlights but when I look for H4 bulbs it says they are for motorcycles only or something like that....

It's ok if I still buy those right?
