Bought "5 minute optical polish" from Advance Auto today. Didn't really think it would work but nice guy there wanted me to try it, said it did wonders for his truck. SURPRISE!!! It works great. I wish I would have taken before and after pics, but my Silverstars are so much brighter and my lenses look great in the daylight. Best $10 I've spent in a while. Just follow the directions (requires drill motor) and be surprised. jim

It's amazing how much polishing helps... I have used Kit Scratch-out and Novus plastic polishes to acheive the same outcome.

Armoring works well also if lens is new enough. Even better on later plastic as it is more easily scratched.

Applying a thick laminate/plastic material over them to prevent cracking or chipping.

Search (body of posts) for both stonegurad and/or stongard (commercial name).

Expensive, but might be worth it for some people!

I just bought some Meguiars plastic polish. Worked good. I found that you can't let the polish dry (although the directions do not state this). The finish is much clearer and shines. I was expecting perfection however. I wonder if anything else works better for a 1999 car with 80k miles. I will probably try the polish again the next time I wash to see if it helps even more.

Indispensable for foglights, and if you do those, might as well do the headlights and parking lights. They had a sale on G50 for half price that is no longer on their website.

No headlight armoring for G50. Call http://www.stongard.com and see if they have the headlight kit for the G50 on clearance still.

Every other armoring company I have seen uses the 40mil 3M armor, whereas StonGard uses the 80mil like in jewelry store windows.

Also, one will notice the front kit for the hood at invicta is 3 piece. Stongards are always one piece. Not all kits are the same.

Foglights getting damaged is a when item, not an if item. Same eventually for headlights. Polish the headlight first before installation as you will not benefit as much with scratched or pitted lenses.
