i had the same problem. drove me nuts!!!! i finally gave up on trying to figure it out. i fixed mine by running a new power wire from the driver side to the passenger side. it is kinda rigging it but at least it works.

ok guys here are the details of repair: i used 12 or 14 gauge primary wire.on the driver side headlight plug there are three wires the red wire with the white stripe (the middle one). I soldered new wire about 6-8 inches from plug and ran wire across to passenger side. the red wire with white stripe i cut about 6-8 inches away from the plug that goes into the fender leaving the headlight plug wire long and leaving some wire on the other plug side that goes to the fender. now solder the new wire to the red wire with the white stripe that goes to the headlight plug on the passengers side. LET THERE BE LIGHT

K, I'll give this a shot till I can figure out the real problem. I've been pulled over twice already, and really can't avoid driving at night.

I'm almost 110% possitive that its your headlight switch. Just get a new switch. I had the same problem, went to the junkyard and got a used one that was in better condition than what I had (yeah, junkyard is a risk too)

Wow, I had that problem also. Fixed it by leaving my high beams on for the next year.
