2007 G35 Journey sedan. Right headlight is out. I thought it was just the bulb (the old one is showing age) so I replaced it. Still no go. Went looking for the fuse, but can't find it. I'm guessing it's in the larger box in the battery compartment, but I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to open it. Anyone able to give some advice on this? I figure it it's not the fuse then the ballast must have failed, but I don't want to buy a part I may not need.

The fuse is next to the battery itself. It's in the black box of the image below. You will probably have to take off the surround to get to it.

You can always test the power going into the ballast to see if the ballast is getting power.

Thanks Audtatious. I found the fuse and it was blown. Replaced it and it worked, but later it wasn't. I suspect the ballast so will order later. At Rockauto it's about $240, Infiniti online parts source and Autozone it's around $350, but I can find it for about $50 on Amazon. I take it the Amazon parts are some cheap knock-offs? Oh, by the way, the fuse is in the larger box next to the battery not the one your arrow is pointing at. It's a bit of a bear to get at as you have to use a tool to get the cable free so you can actually have access.

The picture is from a how-to on replacing the battery, I knew it was around the battery and made an assumption. It's in the others I assume.

Glad you are tracing it down. Personally I prefer OEM parts.

Sorry for not posting sooner. The ballast was the culprit for blowing the fuse. I was not, however, able to replace it without removing the headlight. No room for a screwdriver for the front screw.
