The headlights doors on my 1990 240 SX SE are remainig in the up position, however, the lightslight continue to work. Since each door has it's own motor I assume there is a relay that controls them both. Does anybody know exactly where this relay is and is this a common problem? Thanks.::rockon

Are you sure you are not driving my car?

I had/have the same problem. There is a relay, but in order to get to it you have to remove you headlight motor. Take the motor apart I think it is four phillip screws and locate the circuit board. It is a long black cube (has a cover on it) you have to pry on it, but be careful very delicate, that is usually what goes out on them.

Let me know if that helps

Thanks dude, but question. You said that the relay was located inside the headlight motor. Since there are independant motors for each light, and they both stopped working at the same time, logic tells me that there is a central relay that acts on the signal from the headlight switch and operates both doors using one reference signal for both motors. I have able to fix just about everything on the car in the last four years but never got around to getting a factory manual. The Chlton's I have (which sucks for in-depth electrical problems like this, among others) is not very specific. Any further help would be appreciated.

Oh, don't know if there is one main relay for both, to lazy and at work to check, but my car has a button for the lights to pop up and stay up if you push it, it is next to the light switch on the dash, check and see if that is sticking or you just have it pushed down?

Never hurts to check!

Thanks and I should have thought of this. I checked the switch and pressing/releasing it did nothing. But when I removed it, I found a chaffed wire on the pigtail plug. Repaired it and it works fine. Thanks for the advice!
