Ok so ive been cruising the g35driver forums for a headlight mod... The guys there do a lot more custom stuff and bust out a hand dremel on anything!Whose got big brass ones to be the first to try? I just dont understand how they get inside the housing..

EDIT: It appears these guys put the headlight in the OVEN to open it up!

This guy was nervous to put it in the oven (some people get moisture and stuff in the light) so he painted the outside..

If I had extra cash I'd purchase another set of lights and do some fooling around

Hey LBC - just ask one of the G35 guys that have done it. I posted a link to another example in another thread here about the headlights.

Why reinvent the wheel? Besides all the wheels (infiniti included) have nissan stamped on the inside.

BTW - to me it looks like this guy painted the INSIDE of the light. I can't see any paint lines on the outside of the lense.

lightwurkz did the custom headlights for the Artisanperformance's altima coupe at SEMA. You could check their website to have more info maybe.

^^^^ They will do a custom job for you but I think it runs about $400 and you'll be without headlights while they do it.

From the info ive read... it doesnt look like this is a difficult mod.. but rather one you need balls for... I mean... just like i cant imagine installing a D3... i cant imagine putting my headlight in the oven lol

the mod is easy if u kno how to oven it... or have the confidence to do it...

the painting part is easy...but i dont have the time to take my bumper off and take the lights off and all that time and effort.. tinting the headlights is cheap and fast, and easy to remove..

Seems like an awful lot to pay for custom headlight color.

Baking head light housing isnt a new technique, I've read about guys doing it to the first gen lights to clean out the inside when it got clouded, and dingy looking... IIRC set the oven to 250, and then after taking off all the tabs and screws/nuts put it in for about 10 minutes, maybe less, and then grab some oven mits, and take out the tray and then pull the lens from the housing... just be careful cause the epoxy gets messy, and if everything gets too hot, you could get burned... all that is from what I remembered cause I thought about doing it to my lights to clean out, but I just ended up getting a set froma guy that parted out his 1st gen and all his parts were nice and clean since it was a show car... Also some of the 1st, and 2nd gen guys have made custom projectors for their HIDs... but after all was said and done, they said they wouldnt make a set for others, even if they paid, cause it was soo much work... you could always buy a set from a junk yard that has a working pair and experiment
