I want to install Angel eyes light and Audi style LED with my headlight. I am not sure how to take the headlight unit apart.

I have seen a thread of installing metal mesh, where it shows how the front panel can be taken off. I have come accross Leo's thread of angel light project, But I'd love if someone can give me the right step by step on getting inside the headlight unit. Pictures would be nice, too.

Sorry if there is a thread like that and if I have missed it. :poke:

Coldwater ;) Im pretty sure you have to bake the headlights in the oven for sometime because the two parts are held together by some epoxy...going to need epoxy to seal them back up again as well, i don't know exactly for how long you have to bake them for but google should help with that

Thanks my Desi friend. Is it definitely glued together? Because there are headlights which are just assembled, instead of glued together. I was wondering those who have taken it apart already, could give me some clear answers on this issue. Also, is it necessary to re adjust the headlights after it’s been worked on (I mean professionally - for right angel)?

It seemed to me that adding angle eyes might require some mod with the interior of the light housing. I saw the one Leo did, wonder if he still has it or not.

Yes, all headlights are glued together to avoid condensation in them.
They have also some screws.

The "glue" is butyl, kind hard at normal temperature but soft at high temperature, and good thing, it can be reused.
So the oven method is the best one (you will need a big oven for the Rogue's), something like 5 minutes at 300F should work but google it to be sure (plenty of examples on youtube).
If you protect the butyl while working in the headlight, you will just have to reheat the butyl (either by the oven or a heat gun) and you will be good.

As long as you don't touch the reflector or changing to a projector, you don't need to re-aim it as you did not touch it in the first place.

Darn...I was watching a video on somewhere that showed something like an assembled headlight unit...So I guess it might have been unglued already...But that sound like a big job for an ameture like me...I don't wanna mess up the unit...

But thanks for the info though...I might eventually try it once I loose the ruining new car phobia....
