So I've taken out the amber inserts in the corners of the headlights. I thought they looked OK the way they were, but I liked the idea of having an all clear/chrome headlight lense because I think they look cleaner. But the problem comes from replacing the bulb behind the would-be amber corner insert. The lightbulb itself is clear, not amber colored. This usually isnt a problem because its not difficult to hit up Autozone for some new bulbs but as it turns out no one carries amber colored bulbs that have the proper socket insert. I was wanting the bulbs that are the clear/bluish/silverish color so they look clear when turned off, but amber when turned on, but that's gonna be impossible.

I'm also going to black out the sidemarkers if I can't find the clear markers for cheaper than $70.

What kind of bulbs does it require?

The bulbs look like this:

I believe the technical term is "wedge bulb."

Hey ZGadson. If your going to black out your side makers. Let me know. I still have a little overlays left over from my taillight project. For $20 I will send you a set of smoked overlays for your I35. Here's some pics of my I35 with smoked side on top of the OEM lights. Shoot me an e-mail if you want a set.

Looks like a 194 bulb. I know there are quite a few amber LEDs out there that would fit.

LED would also look better, since it wouldn't be a yellow lamp in the otherwise-clear headlight housing. It'd only be amber when lit.

The cleared corner housings look good.I'm not sure about the diffuser-less look, though. I'd definitely be looking into getting a clear diffuser in there somehow. How does the signal look when the lamp is lit without the diffuser?

Ironically, that's what I just ordered from ebay for $6. They should work nice because they're clear when they're not on.

Thanks though!

Good luck!

LED lights are like tattoos; once you get one, you want more. (Ordered some more LEDs for the sidemarkers and tail lights.)

How do you get your fogs to come on without the headlights? Mine only come on with the lowbeams Or is that just the flash from your camera?

The fog lights have their own fuse in a box in the engine compartment. I simply took the + wire from the foglights and connected it to a different fuse with a constant 12v power going to it. The only con with this situation is that the fuse I connected it to does not shut off when the car is off, so when I forget to turn the fogs off, they stay on and I leave the office only to come out to a dead car.

That was my intention, but when I had the fuse box flipped upside-down I got confused and apparently connected the fogs to the starter fuse which is hot even when the car is off. It shouldn't hurt the car like that, but when I have time Im gonna rip it apart and connect it to the parking lights like I wanted in the 1st place.
