I have a 2008 Maxima SE with a headlight issue. The headlight on the left side comes on when starting the car however within 20 seconds it goes out. Could this be the igniter/ballast controller? I have been reading a lot on the internet that the controllers burn out often. The headlights are Xenon. Is there any quick test to determine if it the controller?

Thanks

Paul

The quickest way to check is process of elimination. Swap the ballast. If the problem persists on the same side, it's the bulb (more than likely). If its goes to the other side, then it's the ballast. I guess the other way you can try it is to swap bulbs. Pretty much same scenario.
