headlight issue HELP

hi i drive a 89 240sx an the headlights dont really work the left highbeam comes on but the headlights dont really work well the left one works sometimes but randomly the right high beam isnt working and the left headlight isnt working all other lights work tho i was wondering if anyone knew if it was the switch on the column or maybe it is a short to ground ok thanks for your help
