so i changed out the stock flip up headlights to some new cases where the bulb can be changed instead of the entire assembly.

after doing the swap i realized that when i turn my brights on one of them turns off but when its not on brights both work.

i thought it may have been just a bulb but after changing them out i now know that is not my problem, any ideas as to what could cause this?

It's possible that the high beam part of your bulb is broken, or you have a bad connection. You should be able to pull the bulb out and check that the filament is not broken.

If you can't determine that way just swap the sides out and you'll be able to determine quickly if it's a bad bulb.
