I can't speak for quality, but I can say that 8000k would almost certainly be a downgrade. . anything that high and you end up gaining color, but losing usability.

I was thinking the same thing. I thought that 8000K would be a little too hot of a kelvin temp.

A friend has an aftermarket 5000k on his VW, and it looks nice and white. . that's the highest I'd go.

I think the 8000k would look very cool. . but maybe not so functional.

You mean the headlight housing itself? I don't think they'll fit...you would have to change some parts i believe, but i'm not sure.
