A headlight on my 2008 G35 Journey has failed due to the seal giving way and moisture entering the unit. The car is equipped with the Technology package and so the lights are the adaptive type. Is it possible to replace these headlight assemblies with non adaptive lights since I don’t really care about the adaptive feature? Thanks.

It looks to me like the AFS controller only chats with the cluster on CAN, so the only result of eliminating the AFS headlights should be a blinking AFS-off indicator in the dash. Desoldering or masking the indicator will eliminate that. The main headlamp connectors and AFS connectors all appear to be different, so they can just be left disconnected.

Thank you. I really would like to hear from someone who has actually done it; someone who will provide specifics.
