This morning when I was leaving for work, I turned on my headlights and the one on the passenger's side didn't come on. Then after a few seconds it came on. It did it last night and once more this morning. I'd just go ahead and replace the light, but the fact that it does come on after a few seconds makes me think there's another problem. What could it be?

the switch is pretty common to go bad an nissans in genral. usually due to poor contacts internally

I am having the similar problem with my headlights on my 94 J30. Are you talking about the relay switch?

I noticed it only happens on the low beam. High beam operates normal. I'm gonna replace the headlights this weekend. I've been looking for an excuse to get some Silverstars anyway. If that doesn't solve it I'll look into the switch.

My left headlight started acting funny (going up delayed or going down delayed). Then just a week or so later it (low-beam) died. I replaced the headlight (entire stock-replacement sealedbeam) and I have yet to experience the "lag" effect......sound like a feasible correlation?

My low beam on the pasengers side will not come on. Was told by previous owner that if you turn the lights on and off repeatedly it'll come on. Checked the plug, the two contacts on each side were shorted together but I don't have any manuals or wiring diagrams to find out where. As far as I know there never was any kind of delay. I have changed the lights out also to no change. I also have a problem with the key release, when the wire is conected it won't release the key, makeing it very easy to steal. I would like any help I can get, I know nothing of cars.

Switch was checked by our resident electrical engineer. He says its good but how can I confirm or disprove this?

nissans burn up switches quite often. How did your resident elctrical engineer know which terminals would have contact at which points without a wiring diagram. the switch will close more then one or 2 circuits at a time.

I think he just used proir experience. I wish I had been there to tell you for sure. He been in electronics longer than i,ve been alive, but that has always been working on and designing radar equipment not cars. So maybe he is wrong. My other coworker has gone to college for auto design and points to a switch or relay, but can't (or won't) say which or where with out a diagram.
