I read in a magazine to use Quixx to restore my headlights. It's not they they were weather (the car's only a 2005), but they look tattered after removing the vinyl on them. After using a similar product put out by 3M, my driver's side headlight came out perfect, and the passenger side is COMPLETELY clouded over!!! I tried performing the wet sand and polish a second time, and still I got the same results.I now purchased a 3M plastic and acrylic polish, but does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove the cloudiness? This issue COMPLETELY takes away from the appeal of my ride, and my HIDs! People keep looking at my car, and immediately their eyes go to this light!

Please let me know if you have dealt with this, and what your solution was.

Thanks!

I had a cloudiness problem with my 2001 Maxima ... I used PlastX from Meguiars it & worked beautifully .... better than anything else I have tried.

Place a post & let us know if it works for you.

I saw that, and the salesman at AutoZone let me try it, but it didn't show any immediate results. I've been reading about it everywhere though. I'm gonna have to post a picture comparing the two headlights so you can see exactly how bad this lense is. I polished it forever today with a rubbing compound by 3M, and it still shows no improvement. I'll try posting tomorrow. I'm at the point where I'm thinking of just buying a new headlight housing. I'll try the PlastX first though. Thanks for the feedback.

Could the cloudiness possibly be on the inside?

repeat the process using the meguiars stuff with a high speed buffer (not a regular car buffer) the high speed buffer should do the job, if not, see if there is a bumperdoc near you.. they do this headlight restoration for $35 per headlight

Yeah, I tried the Meguir's PlastX with a high speed buffer. My stepdad has always had mod cars, and he said the same thing - redo the process, but use the Meguir's - didn't work. It's fine. I'll just order the new headlight. This way, when it comes in, I can paint the headlight housings anyway and kill two birds - i'm dying to see the front end after I do it!

Nah, I know it's not economical lol I know it won't go away unless I buff it for hours. That what my customs man told me - screw that! I'm paying $73 for a new one - I don't have time for buffing!I'm afraid if I even did buff it for hours that it wouldn't look as good as my driver side.

$85 delivered isn't so bad for a new headlight . . . ? I don't think so.

Hey, we're not all millionaires . . . including me :-)

Go-Part.com

The $85 is for 3rd generation headlight, 05-06 specifically. I'm not sure what they offer for AC, but it's worth a look I suppose!
