So I have a 96 se with yellow a** lights and decided to get rid of that. So I got some 3m polisher stuff and some silver star ultra bulbs. I got the corners off and the other screws it's just that I don't really see how to access the two bolts that you can see once you take the corners off. Also is all that garbage yellow on the inside or that outside of the lens? Thanks in advance. I used the search but none of the pictures will work.

the two bolts behind the corners you should be able to reach with an extended socket/ratchet combo. I just cleaned 15 years of yellow off the outside of my lenses with just polish, I"m doing the 3M thing like you are this weekend, I'm almost 100% sure that all the yellow will be on the outside unless there was/is something wrong with the light itself.

I haven't removed the headlights and the corners to clean the headlights. I used masking tape. The yellow stuff is on the outside and the 3m kit works very good. I am seeing minor yellowing after 6 months. Search the tech pages for the headlights. Also if you just need to change the bulbs I don't see why you have to remove everything.

The 3m kit uses several grades of sandpaper and while for most of us it's ok to just mask things off if he has a very nicely painted bumper I wouldn't chance it.

it's just masking tape and it works perfectly (it's 3M anyways). I used two or three coatings of tape. If you are a little careful it's piece of cake and difficult to mess up.

I meant the actual sanding wheel touching and going through the tape. I guess you are right though, that tape is pretty stout. Although I guess there is one other thing that could benefit from having the light out, cleaning the bottom. If you shoot this one down I'm done lol.

However, the kit comes with a flexible, soft pad that's pretty thick. Nothing hard should touch the tape. It's safe. (just rising my post count, bored ). But make sure you lower the rpm (spin speed) to the recommended. Also get prepared for a lot of particles flying around. 3M has also video on youtube about the product. I was very excited for the difference it made on my headlights. Good luck!

oups: just noticed that the OP hadn't mentioned the kit, but just a polishing compound. sorry

Alright thanks for the help guys the lights look just about as good as the corners. Pics might come not sure yet. Not my next problem, the silver starts. I bought the low beams and can't get that rubber seal off. I twisted off the black plastic ring around the rubber and pulled the rubber back a little but the bulb won't come out. I was able to get the high beams out just by twisting them a little but those aren't the ones I need to get out any ideas?
