Headlight bulb opinions.

Yes I searched, no I did not find anything.

Just to be clear. I am not asking about headlight bulbs in general. I am specifically asking about three brands of bulb in particular. I have read some of the stuff, PIAA's are crap and everyone suggest Silverstars. I know.

Now what I wold like to know is if anyone has tried the StreetGlow Xenon Bulb Upgrade. I don't know much about the brand and they seem pretty cheap for what they promise. I would like the brightest possible without hids.

Now there is also a brand Putco claiming no harness upgrade would be required. Not sure if that is true or not but any opinions there?

The last is Hella. I have not seen many coments on this brand and would like to know more.

These will be going in a Kouki so I know hids are going to be shouted at me as the best option but I don't want to install hids. Just let me know about these bulbs if you can, please.

I use Sylvania Silverstar zXe's. They're the brightest halogens Sylvania makes. They're nice and bright, and really, really close to being completely white in color. There's just a tinge of yellow. I think the color temperature is around 4k.

I've seen they get a lot of hate from people, and personally I can't comment on the lifetime of the bulbs. I ran my old Silverstars (not the zXe's) for over a year before I wrecked my car and had to put my stockers in when I repaired it.

I had silverstars in my zenki and it made a world of difference. I ditched those things though and went with some HIDS and they're great. A lot of people say hids are crap yadda yadda retrofit but personally the glare on mine aren't bad at all and I have YET to have someone flash me. Got mine from ddmtuning and I DO NOT recommend buying through them at all. Still to this day I only have 1 bright that works and unless I add wiring or extra stuff, that's how it's going to be. Can't comment on the other brands but back when I had my E34 BMW, Hella was the way to go. You could see into the future with the Hella smileys.
