I need help with finding the correct bulbs for my headlights. It's a 2006 G35 coupe.
I had gotten this car and he said that he had meant to replace the headlight before he sold it.
He recommended D2S bixenon lights. I was able to contact him and show him a couple screenshots of eBay listings of bulbs. We chose one and unfortunately it's blue. The listing didn't specify color and now I'm mismatched.
Can anyone help me find a headlight that goes w my car?
Is it possible to get on eBay and do they list color?
Thanks!

Xenon bulbs are categorized by "color temperature" in Kelvin, from 3000K yellow 12000K violet. Here's a color strip from xenonpro.com showing the progression:

The listing you bought from in eBay should have had a Kelvin rating for the bulb you bought, If it's blue it has to be 6000K or higher. Nissan doesn't specify a rating for the OE bulbs, but most of them are 5000K (white). You may get a slight mismatch with a new aftermarket bulb even if you try to match color temps, so I'd suggest either getting the OE bulb or getting a matched aftermarket set for both sides.

Thank you! So the guy I got it from said a 6500k watt bulb set that is DS2 HID Xenon headlight.
Is that correct then?
Thanks for making it easier to understand the color with the lights!

You're most welcome. The 6500K isn't watts, it's color temperature and 6500K is definitely bluish. If you want white you need to stick with about 5000K, below 4500K starts to be noticeably yellow (kind of like stock halogens) and above 5500K starts to be noticeably blue.

Oh,thank you! So if I don't want the blue ones, but white instead look for 5000k? Maybe that would be better than the blue look. As soon as I can get this figured out,I'll know for the future.
I appreciate your help.
I'm new to understanding this kind of thing.

Correct. 5000K is a standard value for most bulb manufacturers, so they shouldn't be too difficult to find.

Is blue the thing to do, that it looks more cool? Because I actually have the other one.
My Dad just got back to me and said that's the one we bought from eBay ( the one I mentioned above that the seller told us would be good) and actually that was put in last week.
And the seller from eBay sent the pair.

Honestly, if it was mine I'd do an LED conversion. There are several companies now making D2S-LED bulbs and kits that are plug-and-play. Lasfit makes a particularly nice set I installed recently for a 350Z customer, it also fits your ride. The LED ballast is designed to fit the same hole as the HID ballast. It's pricey at around $250, but it fits like factory and the owner was happy as a clam about the output. Slightly blue at 6000K but very bright and a nice beam pattern.

The 6000K HID's are nice if you like them, I feel like they're about as bright as the 5000K's in terms of luminosity. I really don't like them above 6000K, they're too blue and I feel like there's a definite loss of definition in the way your eye perceives the road at those wavelengths. The cool factor is there, but I don't like the performance.

Thank you. I'm glad I asked! I definitely feel like I want to get those bulbs for sure, but cost wise right now is a bit difficult. I'm just getting back on my feet with the car and such, but I'll save it to my Pinterest.
So I'm glad you pointed out the correct ones to really go with.
I hope you're around when I ask about car play systems!

I'll probably disappoint you on that. One thing I'm not is an aftermarket audio expert. But there are some other people here who are, I'm sure you can get the help you need.

No problem. You were a big help for sure on the headlight situation! All I can think about is being able to put those in , the LEDS, but unfortunately.. it's going to have to wait. But seriously Thank You!! Because now I know the "correct " ones that should be in there!
As for audio, I'll ask w a post.
I'm looking at a 10 in. .. Another unfortunate thing the aesthetic of the dash may be compromised. But , we'll see.
Anyhow, hope you have a Great Holiday Weekend and thank you for the help! :wavey:
