I've been looking into replacing the headlamp bulb with a 5,000-6,000k bulb to get a slightly whiter color. Websites like Vled indicate it's a D2S bulb just like the ones in my M. However, the manual does not list an actual bulb or size - it simply says "LED". I'm wondering if the Q70s even have a removable bulb or is it a sealed unit? Has anyone actually done a headlamp bulb replacement?

Nissan LED's are never removable, they're assemblies with no changeable low beam bulbs. In the case of your Q, the high beams are LED also. On models where a halogen housing is an option, you can swap housings and do some rewiring to use whatever bulb you like. However, your Q doesn't have a halogen option, so you're basically SOL.

Well, maybe I'll walk that back half a step. It looks like the '14's and possibly some early '15's came with HID bulbs, and those housings seem otherwise identical to the LED housings. There are aftermarket LED's out there these days that fit into Xenon holes, so it's possible you could get changeable bulbs that way. Whether it's worth the expense and effort is another matter.

I have a 2011 and I swapped my HID bulbs for 6000k LASFIT LED headlight bulbs and their turn signals, 3000k yellow LED fog lights and LED park and side markers. Everything works and looks great. Plug and play.

Thanks for the responses. I also have confirmed that at east for 2017 to 2019 models the headlamps are one-piece sealed units with 100% LEDs with no removable bulbs. if one of the LEDs fails, you are forced to- replace the entire unit at a cost of about $3,000 at the dealer. Why did the engineers design it this way?
Simple: they don't have to repair them.

Yep, I asked for you on FB and was just coming back to say your 2019 is LED, non-HID bulb.

Any output compare pictures of before and after or lumens ratings? I live in rural NC now and really need to get something brighter.

If you have halogens then LED's can give you a big boost, but if you have HID's like most M's then you may benefit from just changing the bulbs. All bulbs fade over time, some up to 70%. That includes HID's and LED's. I don't think you'll find LED's in general are any brighter than HID's in general. It's hard to beat a plasma torch for brightness, and that's basically what HID's are, a plasma torch in a bottle. But if they've been in there for awhile, they may be a lot less bright than when they were new.

Yeah, I want to upgrade/replace the D2S on both my '11 M56x and wife's '16 QX60 cause they are definitely a bit dimmer than I'd like and likely due to age. Mine are probably 5yrs old, hers are the factory bulbs.

I don’t have before/after pics, unfortunately. I can say the LEDs are noticeably brighter, though. I bought all my LEDs from Amazon. LASFIT has very good reviews, so I trusted them. I was very impressed with the improvement.
