Headlamp upgrade from halogen to HID headlamp assembly?

I, like many of you, looking for upgrade from halogen lights to HID lights. Thought about buying the HID kit but a bit worry about the beam pattern since the stock projecter is made for halogen bulbs. So I am wondering if say I buy the OEM HID headlamp assembly and put into my EX, leave the 'connectors' for the 'auto leveling unconnected, and just plug in the xenon D2S bulbs set wondering if this will work? Any thoughts?
