Trying to follow the manual but I can seem to get the rubber cover and bulb out. Does it turn or pull straight out? Seems like very tight fit considering the length of the bulb.

Help, need to finish tonight.

The standard driving light which I believe is the low beam. Light bulb 9003 from Sylvania.

ahh you dont twist, theres a little clip that you have to undo.. you feel the tabs and squeeze it to get the bulb out, the harness connector just comes out of the back of the healight bult..... Just pull.

The clip I squeeze is under the rubber cap?

Also, if I can get the unit out, do I need to be concerned about aligning the light beam?

I feel a square under the rubber cap. Is that what I squeeze on the vertical sides?

no that is the plug you gotta remove.

I forgot theres a plastic ring you have to unscrew after you unplug it...... THEN you can see the tabs.

I got the rubber cover off with a slight tear. Is this tear a big deal?

Are you sure it come straight out? It won't budge. Any hints?

Yes, it is what seals the unit form dirt and moisture.

Take the whole headlight out if you can't see what needs to be done. Then it is simple.

I got it done, thanks for all of your help Wes!!!

For anyone else, after the plastic connector comes off from the bulb, there is a larger rumber piece that comes off. then their are two metal spring loaded clips which the manual does not reference. Then the bulbs come right out straight.

Wes, my only concern is that I tore the rubber cap that covers the plastic connector so it is not quite as sealed as before. Is this no big deal or does it require some silicone or something?

(Cannot complain first headlamp bulb replacement since I bought the care 12 years ago.)

That's because it's not his car!

If you want your bulb to have a chance to last as long again, get a new part from Joe.

I am not sure it is easily replaceable. It is the small boot cover about 1 1/4 inches that starts behind the wire that is fixed onto the connector that goes to the back of the bulb. (the big rubber piece about 3 inches is easy to replace but luckily did not tear this one.

Do you think the small piece can be easily replaced? If not, how about just silicone it?

It's a sealed system and a tear will let in condensation which will eventually corrode the socket. There's not much rain in L.A. but there is a lot of moisture in the air. Silicone is fine as long as you know the repair is keeping out the moisture. As a backup, get one with your next order from Joe. It can't cost more than a few bucks. Good luck.
