Headlamp diffuser/focuser removal?

Hey guys. I need some advise from the minds of NICO. After the last rainstorm we had over here, I noticed a great deal of condensation in my passenger side headlamp. The condensation has since evaporated. But has left behind awful water spots. I would like to take out the headlamp unit and use a rag tied to a stick or something, in there to wipe away the spots. However that round beveled diffuser/focuser is in the way.Here is the question. Will snipping that diffuser/focuser out cause me any major concerns? 97Q

P.S. I did a HID conversion, bulbs and ballasts, on the lamps. I need to seal the cap better to prevent this, but I want the water spots out first.
