Headgasket?

I noticed my car overheats ONLY in stop and go traffic but when I get going, it drops back to normal and when I drive from light to light its fine. I do spit out white smoke at WOT. I also hear a noise coming from somewhere near the water pump at startup. So I guess my question is...Water pump bad or Headgasket blown?Haven't checked the spark plugs for residue yet. I just changed the oil and doesn't look milky at all. The antifreeze is clear. No leaks but do have a vac/boost leak somewhere.

do you have a fan? e fan or mechanical fan? fan shroud?

I have a electric fan. I dont have a thermostat.

compression test, pressurize coolant system

check you coolant level, check to see if your weeper valve is leaking, check to make sure your efan is wired correctly (i have seen that before).

coolant lvl is good (no reservoir) efan is blowing towards motor.what is a weeper valve?

when your water pump starts going bad it is a hole that water will leak out of.
