Gentlemen,Here's my situation. My 240 (stock KA24E) has had overheating issues as of late. The car hasn't been driven since I went to Iraq in February, and I just started driving it again last week. The car was maintained while not being driven (started regularly, fluids checked, etc). When the overheating issues began, I replaced the water pump and thermostat. Before replacing the pump and thermo, the car would run normally and then the temp gauge would spike. Here's what makes me think it's the headgasket: the white smoke from the exhaust at normal operating temperatures, and the lovely smoke-filled bubbles coming out of my overflow tank. Also, as a side note, the oil is still clean. Now my question is, is there something I'm overlooking, and if not, what does a headgasket replacement cost/entail? Any help would be appreciated; I'd really like to have this fixed before I go back to Iraq on the 16th. Thank you.

hey headgaskets arent that expensive to fix... but the most expensive part is the machine work... you would have to get the head machined to make sure it is straight and not warped... i live in g'ville sc... if you are interested i can see what i can do... i think machine work through the guy i know is about 50 bucks not sure about the pricing to install it... you can email me at [email protected] for more info
