i noticed that my engine seems to be leaking oil today. its not dripping but is lightly coated. it seems to be coming from the cylnder head on the front left of the engine. there is no sign of oil on the side of the engine, just the front. i have also noticed that for the last couple of months the coolant overfolw needs to be filled up about every 3 weeks. also before all this i did a leak down test at school and on the number one cylinder there was only a bout a 3% loss and it was from the rings( could hear out the fill cap). could the leak be a headgasket or the timing cover there. i have only had the swap since may and the car has been in my garge for the winter the last two months.

my other question is that arond the time i noticed the coolant needing to be filled up i devoleped a slight exhaust leak. it happed after a drift event. my question is could a crack in the head, or even the head gasket, cause an exhaust leak?

Could be front main seal, timing cover, timing chain tensioner, valve cover gasket.

Check to see if the bolts under your cams, that torque your oil pump to your head are properly tightened. If one is loose or stripped it will cause the oil leak you are talking about...your coolant should not be effected by this you could possibly have a small leak some where else.

its not the front main oil doesnt travel up and its not the valve cover.

I think 7lbs torque is all that is required, but I don't have a fsm in front of me
