Any1 know of a place to get a headgasket for our motors, preferably a metal one. I know dee can get some but money is kinda tight right now. I just bought pistons and bearings so I dont really have too much money to spend. Though the fact remains I need one asap so really I guess I shouldnt be so picky. So Dee could you quote me a price for one, Kevin told me the price a couple of days ago but I dont remember. Anyway thanks ppl.

Get you a stock Fel-Pro headgasket, some new headbolts, some gasket sealant, and have Kevin torque the head down in proper sequence, you should be just fine. Any q?s, have Kevin call me............

according to the 2002 Nismo catalog the CA gasket has an 86mm bore. Not sure if that's when crushed though.

Will the head gasket be fine running higher boost say like 18psi? I plan on raising the boost once I can get the Emanage and fuel sorted out. Well thanks.

I imagine a stock gasket COULD handle it. Especially if you are using some ARP studs. The DSM guys run 18-20 psi on stock headgaskets all day long without incident so I am imagine it could be done. An aftermarket just gives you that extra safety measure plus many of them are re-usable. Just would be nice if cometic would come out with one for the CA...

it's not gonna happen with cometic. There is a minium of a 100 peice quanity production limit. That equates to about a $3000 investment on some business's part to get them made. And since the demand is low I seriously doubt anyone is going to do it. Trust me, I've looked into it pretty seriously. As for the stocker, I'm going to test the limits of the stock headgasket. I think that with some good ARP headstuds (which I have) it will stand up to plenty of abust.

The stock Felpro headgasket with a good coating of copper gasket sealant spray and some stock head studs should do the trick. It has worked for me before. Also since ARP is not available for the CA, you could have the head studs cryogenically frozen for extra sex appeal.

ARP's ARE available for the CA. You need to get the SR20DET Mainstud Kit. Check out eBay and do a little thread searching....

ARP SR Main Studs = ARP CA Head Studs

they fit, they work, just need one extra washer on one stud since it sticks up more.

GAH BEAT ME TO IT!!

Ive been running 18psi on the stock gasket as well as stock bolts since august. Ive done a few auto-Xs and went down the strip a few times aswell as alot of highway runs and spirited street driving. So far everything is holding up. I plan on upping the boost a few more pounds soon to like 20-21 psi so i can hopefully break the 300whp mark on the dyno.

I can still get those gaskets, just let me know when you're ready to front the loot.

The answer is "Yes". But mentioning a greddy emanage on a CA just turned my stomach. You're asking for trouble. But if you have someone that has that similar set-up, then you might be alright. The CA is not the SR and they do nothing alike when it comes to performance. The CA doesn't require nearly as much timing as an SR does, so be careful.

I don't which part #s you guys are using, but I don't have that mysterious problem you're having with one bolt being longer than the others.

It's only slighty longer.. and if you don't bottom out the studs then its easy to make them all matched height but then you have almost no thread left at the bottom for the nut to torque down on

You sure they didn't give you a bad bolt or something to that effect?

Alright so the consensus is a stock fel-pro headgasket and some new head studs will do the job. Also, the emanage hasnt been set in stone it was just something I was looking into. I'm not too sure what I'm gonna do about engine management yet but I will be talking to you guys about that soon. I might just run a safc for now so I can run the bigger injectors for now. Thanks for all the comments and responses.
