I have a 97 2.4 5 speed.
I plan on doing an intake, some head work, and a cam, maybe a turbo. Im really wondering what the stock headgasket thickness is?
Is there a thinner gasket to increase compression woth good results? It would push me an all motor way.
Or a thicker head gasket to lower compression for a turbo.
If i can po ush 180-200 n/a i think id go that way. Really just want to know about the headgasket. Thanks all!

The 240 guys have used thicker head gaskets in the past, but typically only for going for BIG numbers. Honestly you can run the stock thickness head gasket and make plenty of power safely with the right tune/fuel.

I haven't seen thicker or thinner head gaskets for a while, but I also haven't been actively looking around. You could try contacting one of our vendors to see what they say. If you go NA, I'd recommend shaving the head as opposed to making a thinner head gasket.
