I just installed a ka24de in my 90 chassis and it started, but i was greeted with the telltake signs of a blown headgasket. So i need ot order a new one.

Has anyone used a beck/arnley one? it looks decent and i think im gonna order this cause i had a bad experince with a fel-pro

Unless you get a screaming deal from beck-arnley, why not go with an OEM headgasket? They're only $40 bucks. In fact, if you order through Midway Nissan and tell them you're a NICO member, you get a 5% discount (which only amounts to like 2 bucks).

When it comes to a PITA gasket like a head gasket, I prefer to stick with OEM whenever possible. It's nothing against Beck-Arnley as they usually use very quality aftermarket production facilities, but in this case the Nissan gasket isn't that expensive.

+1 for OEM Head Gasket if your not boosting. My buddy just did a 6K NA KA build and his Cometic Head Gasket failed immediately , so he bought a Fel Pro and everything is ok.

For what it is worth, almost all people that race in this area, no matter what class of car or track, use Fel-Pro. They have been around for ever and there must be a reason they are so popular.

If you are doing an OEM re-build (no bost etc) it is hard to argue agenst the OEM gasket. It is what the engine was designed to use. I am not going to tell a staff full of engineers that they don't know what they are doing:)

Any bad experience relating to a fel-pro is probably going to be an end user mistake. We got guys running 30 psi on a felpro with no problems.

At 30-40 bucks per gasket you cant beat that.. Its really not even the cost of the gasket at this point its the PITA of the install.

However if your not boosting or going for performance you cant go wrong with an OEM replacement.

I got the beck/arnley for like... 15 bux so i think its going in and my fel-pro experince was more of a waterpump seal then a headgasket one

The only problems with fel-pros are when you want to REMOVE one. They usually split in half and you spend quality time with a razor blade.
