Headgasket, aftermarket intake manifold?!

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

I'm looking for a thinner than stock headgasket for my 89 240sx fastback to raise the compression just a little. Also, i'm looking for any company that makes a aftermarket intake manifold, i've been searching and searching and can't find anyone that makes one. Any info would be appreciated thanks guys

That tiny compression bump will make so little HP that it's not at all worth it...

There are 2 compression ratios for the 89s...most are lower at 8.6:1,but the early year models have 9.1. If yours has an intake air temp sensor, it's lower compression...

That being said - Say it bumps it from 8.6 to 8.9...that's maybe 1% increase in power.

Not worth the trouble.

As for the intake manifold...in stock form, the stock bottom end can't rev high enough to take advantage of any short runner manifold.

FYI...

So as ^^^ he said...none are out there.

can't rev high enough? The stock manifold doesn't even support proper breathing to the stock low redline. I'm sure you've driven a 240sx before, and you definitely start to notice the power drop to nothing after about 6000 rpms.

if you have a lil wire going to a plug right next to air filter box then u have air temp sensor.
