Ok ultimately it's gonna be a matter of price but I would like to hear your feedback. I wanted to get pro's and con's about pacesetter headers.

i dont know if youll hear any pros for the pace setter headers. ive heard lots of horror stories about that. the quality sucks, the fit and finish is horrible also. i heard they were changing some stuff around, but i still havent heard anything good about pace setter. i had exhaust tips from them on my old taurus that had an sho exhaust and the were crap, i hated them, the paint peeled off of them on day one once they got hot. i will never buy anything from pace setter ever again, you get what you pay for.

I have a GReddy header, but I've heard they crack at the welds. Mine has held up so far, but more than one person has had problems with them. The overwhelming majority (I think) is leaning toward Hotshot. I think pacesetter's quality is suspect, but I've never owned anything besides the GReddy, so I'm not sure how they are.

pacesetter sucks.

If you can find an old set of Gude Headers those are good.

Hotshot are good.

Greddy will be good when they rerelease them, the older ones had some issues with the welds as was stated before.

Hey Dauntless: I own a pacesetter header and was wondering if it was causing me to run rich. The O2 sensor sits off the #2 cylinder so the ECU can only get readings from 1 cylinder, not from a combination of 2 like on Hotshot. Could this be my problem? Granted i only paid like $122 for the thing, it rattled against the body for 3 months before i broke down and took it to a muffler shop and they just banged in the floor board where it was rattling.

I don't know if that is whats causing you to run rich, its a possibility. The oxygen sensor is based on ratios, so only having one part of the whole picture could cause a rich situation, or a misfunctioning o2 sensor can do the same, as well as a misaligned o2 sensor, it could very well be your pacesetter headers. Just checking, but is it rich in normal driving, or is it rich when you start up or when you gun it? Just wondering because its supposed to be rich when you start and rich under open throttle because when yous tart it doesn't use the o2 sensor and under open throttle it richens the mixture to avoid detonation, don't know if that helps any, let me know if I can be clearer. : )

Pacesetter products are TERRIBLE!!!

Poor grade metal, no coating, poor welds, poor fit.

Remember this:

"You get what you pay for."

I don't like headers for the K motors. With a I/H/E setup your almost at 50% of an SR20DET swap!

HTH.

Its kinda weird: the car runs normal thru every gear until you get to 5th gear. I could be going 45 in 4th gear and it runs stoich, but as soon as i put it into 5th, it runs super rich (usually 2-4 LEDs into the green on my Autometer air/fuel ratio gauge). This doesnt bother me too much around town, until i get onto the highway, where i run extremely rich again all the way from 60 MPH on up. There is also a complete lack of power at highway speeds, an overpass on the interstate will cause me to lose 5 MPH at the same throttle input. My O2 sensor was new with the header in Jan, as are my plugs, wires, rotor, dist cap. Ive tried adjusting my throttle position sensor thinking it was telling my ECU that the throttle was more open that it really is, but that did nothing. I have an HKS Super AFR to control the idle with my Nismo street cam, but since the car is fine thru all RPMs in 1st thru 4th gear, i cant see how chaning the fuel map would help my problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm, thats kind of odd because unless your on wide open throttle your engine should definitely be getting feedback from the O2 sensor. I think it might be int he way your cams and afc are set for the high RPMs. Have you adjusted it at all? Its probably the tuning rather than the pacesetters...

Ok ill check into that. My ECU isnt giving me any codes, so i must need to adjust the timing or something (i threw my timing light out the window when i installed this cam, i have a fried who does it by ear). Thanks for the help!

Actually ive had the MSD ignition for about 4 years now. I originally installed it to cure a rich running condition that was later found out to be a bad water temp sensor connection. My car has run fine with it ever since, until earlier this year when, in the span of a week, i installed a pacesetter header and a Nismo street cam. Didnt actually realise HOW rich i was running at highway speeds until a few months later when i got my air/fuel ratio gauge. Now that i got my HKS Super AFR, im tending to believe Daunttless in that its a tuning problem, most likely my timing being off a little. And since i cant use a timing light anymore (unless you know where i should aim with all the performance crap ive got on now :) ) Ive got a friend who can do it by ear, so hopefully this weekend i can bug him to help me out.

DO NOT let someone check your timing "by ear". You will end up being way out. Sure the KA has a knock sensor, but I still would not trust anyone to set my timing without a light.
