So far I only found DC, Hot Shot, and OBX headers for the ka's. Between the DC and the Hot Shot, which one is better? What's the best header out there for our ka's?

Agian, i'm new to the drifting scene.

Thanks to those who reply

yes yes we have headers cause we have a V4.........(/sarcasm)we only have 1 header:).

anywayz more people like the hot shot header than the DC, but i think the DC header is carb aproved so many in cali use it, and cause the hotshot header is a bit cheaper.

I think you should definitely go with a DC or Hotshot header, don't go with any of those other knockoff brands. Everyone I know with either DC or Hotshots header on their car likes them and has had no real troubles with them.

Anyway, I have a Hotshot Header (that I haven't installed yet) but the quality appears to be very good and price can't be beat. I do, however, live in PA so I don't have to worry about all that CARB nonsense.

Well I bought the DC sports love the torque and love the HP it provides. I bought the header after looking at the DC sports Dyno. This dyno is a result of just implementing the header, no other modifications were done to the KA. Thought you guy's might want to see some results.........

I have the Hot Shots header on my 97' S14, and it made a huge difference. I would just recommend a hi-flow cat as well. You will get a nice sound and its less restrictive. Noticed a big difference in mid to high RPMs. Plus a little bit better throttle response. I also kept the EGR connected because I have emmissions where I live in Illinois.

Not jacking the tread but I was on one of our sponsers pages and they have a Megan Racing header for the KA. My question is they show the application fitting 91-96. Is this true?

Heh...I was trying not be a smart-***, but couldn't help it. My apologies to the original poster.

Anyway, I recommend Hotshot unless you happen to be in CA, where the DC Sports header has the CARB exemption (or pending CARB exemption) and the Hotshot *does not*.

Megan racing is quality stuff... my friend bought a turbo header for his SR and it's still going STRONG... i'd buy megan. They change the exhaust note a little, it gets a tad higher but it sounds mean.

He did mention we had one header.
What's the best header out there for our ka's?
He mentioned headers due to the fact he listed more then one brand. If you have a OBX, hotshot, and DC laying there you dont have a header but headers(i.e: more than one, three brands were listed)

Those megan headers are horrible, think equal length and then take a look, bunk.

Obx are decent, good bang for the buck and they dont rust or crack. Designs arent so great, relatively decent.

Pacesetters are good designs, but have lower quality material and sometimes smaller primary and collector diameters.

Hotshots are marginally better than an obx, DC sports ka24de header have nice construction with good primary and collector design, but still 4-2-1.

The best off the shelf headers in my opinion:

Sohc- doug thorley truck header maybe, or a low production race Z series headerDohc- greddy 4-1

A sectioned custom header is the way to go, 4-1 with long taper collector or a 4-2-1 with long taper collectors and extended secondary length.

S&S headers makes a good 4into1 and coating is optional.
