It isn't "hard"...more time consuming than anything. If you're confident with your wrenching skills, than go for it! However, I would think about what you want to gain...headers don't give you much HP for your trouble.

I did a header install on a late-model LT-1 in an F-body and it was a nightmare! They leaked and the power gain was minimal. Totally regret doing the mod. For my G, I'm going to go FI instead.

FI for the win, forget all that weak all motor stuff man. It takes too much time and its a waste of money to invest in for like 3 whp?

I say safe your money and invest in FI.

FI ftw.

One thing you can use that works if you don't have a lift is 4x6x8 cut down into 4' long sections. You can jack up the car and then put the tires down on the wood.

Headers can make big gains but only if they breath a lot better then the stock exhaust system and your car can get extra air and burn extra fuel.

If you have cam, tuner, gears, intake, heads then headers will make a huge gain.

If you have an otherwise stock engine then you may not see any gain. On the 07 the stock exhaust system is pretty decent.

You can install the headers yourself, connecting them to the exhaust system may require a exhaust shop. One tip, get a GOOD exhaust gasket, metal works the best. You can burn through the paper and fiber ones pretty quick and exhaust leaks are no fun. Another tip is to put just a dab of antiseize on the header bolts. Use a torque wrench and take your time. There is not going to be a lot of room to work and this is something you want to get right the first time.
