You mean turbo manifold. But how are you doing a Silvia conversion? Swapping in the SR20? Silvia front conversion? RHD?

The SR doesnt have a header (since it has a turbo). It has a turbo manifold and a downpipe. There are TONS of downpipe manufacturers and quite a large number of turbo manifold makers out there. So which one were you thinking about? The dp or tm? Let us know and i'm sure we can find more than a few companies.

there is no ignorance there. I've seen a header on a turbo car before. they usually call it a tubular manifold though. no biggie.

most people go with cast manifolds though because some fear the welds on a "tubular manifold" will fail under severe conditions such as high boost.

but, yes you can get a performance manifold. here is one i found from jspec.com:

Trust Header

there are pricey and require a lot of steering mods. thats why they are not so popular. hope this helps.

Most people (everyone) would call that an exhaust or turbo manifold, not a header. Even in the link to the "Trust Header" they refer to it as a manifold of some kind. Keep it simple, Header is for NA, Turbo Manifold is for turbo.

Again, if that is attached to a turbo then most people would call that a turbo exhaust manifold: HKS Stainless Steel tubular turbo exhaust manifolds offer maximum exhaust flow for increased turbo spool up & phenomenal flow capacity. Fabricated of polished SUS304 stainless steel and flanged to mount an HKS wastegate for unsurpassed boost management.

If thats an NA car then yes it is a header.

who made up this turbo/NA rule?

header, manifold whatever.

i learned it as manifold is the stock cast iron piece and a header is a tubular perfomance upgrade.

if you just call it a manifold, you could get mixed up with an intake manifold or an exhaust manifold in some cases. thats why i use header.

it doesnt matter what you call it. we all know what you mean.

well that's just the thing, not everyone will know what you are talking about, and in all cases when you just call it a header when you are talking about turbo cars people will think you are dumb. mine as well call it was it really is and look competent. besides turbo manifold sounds wayyy cooler then header!

how about just calling it a turbo header. its the same thing as a turbo manifold. in any case, if someone doesn't understand what you mean when you say header in reference to a turbo car, then he or she needs to learn. and head-er is easier to say than tur-bo man-i-fold

Slaw50. Check out santeca.com They are exclusive distributors for many Japanese companies, and have a wide variety of products for your application. You can also check out the silvia that we built from a '91 240sx. Fully conversion, only LHD still.

Have a great day!Josh

you say "we" built, but you dont even know a S13 blacktop exist?

qoute "Hey sr20det. Hate to brake it to ya, but there is no such thing as a s13 blacktop. Only red tops were on s13. Black tops were introduced on s14's and continued w/ s15's. the big difference between the red tops and early black tops(s14) is in the bottom end and in the intake manifold. The red top has a little tougher bottom end, and the intake manifold on a red top(s13) is straighter. Plus might I mention that the red tops are cheaper. S14 black tops make a little more hp. but you can easily make up for that with simple mods. Anymore questions or comments"

HEH, seems kinda fishy to me...tool

Maybe Rnn14 just has foot in mouth disease. : ) Also, what happened to the old Rnn14? I guess he didn't make it over to the new boards.. : ( What a shame.
