Wish me luck peeps I'm headed to the track!

I have a positive DA tonight and am actually going to do some weight reduction track prep. With a little luck I should bring home a high-mid 13 second slip !!!

Man the air was really really good, but it was too cold :-( I could not get traction. I'm talking about spinning so bad that the car spun all the way through 1st gear, broke loose in 2nd almost loosing control then went back into first and started the process again. I couldn't leave at more then half throttle. I was breaking traction on the 2-3 shift hard enough to pitch the back end out it was 38 degrees! The track surface was so cold it was very difficult to keep the car on the track. Heres a slip from a race where I gave the car full throttle off the line. It spun so much I ran a 14.79 @ 98.822 the car was spinning all the way through the 330 and I was fighting to keep it on the track. Heres the slip

I ran so many 14.0's it made me sick. I got in 10 runs! and almost ran the car out of gas LOL

I got treed by a new Mustang GT with intake and drag radials. He ran a 14.170 @ 97.517 to my 14.097 @ 99.588 but his reaction time was .187 and mine was .495 so he crossed the line 1st even though I had a faster time. Heres the slip

There were two 2006 Nissan 350Z's out there both automatic transmissions. I raced one of them twice and let some of their guys ride with me and video the race. They were real cool but the car was running 14.8 to my 14.2 That should give you an idea how much faster the 2007 G35 is then the 2006!! Here a video ignore me and my new buddy talking

I lost to a SRT-8 300, SRT-8 Magnumn both by 5 tenths but took them until the 60' and was loosing by 2 tenths at the 1/8th then troque took over.

I beat a ACURA RSX running a HUGE single turbo, evident by his time of 14.732 @ 111.333 to my 14.254 @99.959. He was making enough power at 9 psi to break the passenger side half shaft where it went into the transmission.

I beat a 4 door Civic SI twice. I beat a 2000 Honda S2000 with drag radials, a carbon fiber hood and intake. He ran a 14.2 at 97.8 to my 14.084 @ 99.78 and I talked to the driver. He has been taking the car to the track since new and cut a .2 reaction time so the G35 is faster then a S2000!

There was a older M3 out there running 14.4's I would have LOVED to humiliate him but we never got lined up together.

Sweet Mustang GT that treed me. The driver was real cool I talked to him in line after the race. He said he would give me a rematch but we never got lined up again. I need drag radials BAD! The DA was -2 '

Well my G35 did run a faster ET I just spun too much leaving and lost at the tree. The Mustang and I talked after the race and he said man I looked in my mirror and you were coming on fast.... I passed him right after we went through the traps.

I should have asked him to swap rear tires with me. I could have cut a 13 on his drag radials for sure! What is a Mustang bolt pattern 5x5.5?

I know I know. I am just playing. You know me.

He did good.

Drag radials would make a huge diferent.

Nico! He needs a set of drag radial.

I was out playing in the snow. We've got over a foot snow in like 6-7 hours. All I've seen on the road 4x4 and snow plow. Some cars stuck badly. I had no issue with my X at all. It was fun. I went out several times.

FUN DAY wooohooo.

I love my X. I know I said that several times. Like a million times or so.

Snow plow was out cleaning all day. I had no issue at all.

Here is my driveway now. [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

I taped just going in the storm. I can't tape when I am playing.

Here s the short video. Nothing fancy just flying in the snow.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fu9zIKvWbSQ

This video was at the morning about 4 inch snow that time.

Next time I try to get my wife to record some play. It's a promise. Winter just started. We'll have lot more to go.

Nice. Smocked it bad ha.

I was thinking if I got more snow I have to get somebody to take it from my front. I don't have much room left to put it. Anybody want some snow. Free only charge for shipping.

SVT:

This time of the year I really appriciate I was smart enough to get AWD. I did not see any rwd car on the road yesterday. Some fwd had problems to get in and out from the parking lot.

For me it was fun every minute. I bet it would be even better if I had a 4x4 with the raised body.

Thanks guys!

I was very happy with the car I just wish I could have got traction. I'm going to start watching Ebay for a set of Nitto 555 R drag radials in 245/45/17

Yep, there was such a fine line Saturday night between crazy wheel spin and traction. I actually was heating my tires every run at the burn out box and I usually stay far away from it with street tires!

That car that ran by itself right before my race was a 80's Camaro with wheelie bars and giant slicks. He almost lost control on every shift. You can hear him let up when he kicks sideways and almost smacks the wall with the tail of his car.

Man, I gotta get to the track! After my recent warranty work on my 05 coupe, I was given an 07 sedan. My coupe definitely felt faster...

Nice runs though! +1 on getting drag radials!!!

Or maybe you should get an X. More traction. With the decent tire not oem all season tire it would do really good. On wet payment with my all season almost as good as dry pavement.

weight

I could have bought a X but passed because of the weight. I bought a J, would have bought a BASE if they would have had one.

Joe with your mods you should be able to keep up with or beat a 07 sedan.

Guess you missed his thread about BROKEN TRANSMISSION 06 G35

I don't think the manual is any faster then the automatic drag racing. Drifting and autocross the manual will be faster but the type of red neck straight line racing I enjoy the manual isn't faster.

There was a 6.0 GTO at the track running 13.9's to my 14.0's I didn't get to race him but one of my SRT-8 300 buddies beat him badly twice.
