i am going turbo on a 92 KA24de. I was wondering what i should get done to my head. Show me your ideas. I head that p&p isnt good for turbocahrged motors. I need to get my head done so i can finish putting my motor together.

Not that I have an answer for you, but whats your setup? Turbo? how much boost? i assume youve got a built bottom end already.

port polish, and a 5 angle valve seat grind. cams too. you'll also want either new valves or have you existing valves re-faced. new seals too.

If I was rebuilding my head, I would also run dual valve springs. They reduce valve float at high rpm.

valvesprings (which you can't get), valve seals, possibly seats. just look the head over. It doesn't need porting and cams if you aren't running a lot of boost or you don't want to run real high rpm's.and it doesn't need aftermarket valvesprings unless you are revving high.

KA heads have horrible flow for their displacement IMO. A little mild work in there should improve things and make more power regardless if you're N/A or on boost. Bigger gains when boosting the engine of course since this will be a percentage gain, not a fixed one.

If you wanna save money, read up on DIY Head Porting. Its real easy if you take your time and just clean the chmabers and remove any casting defects.

The thing with motors, IMO, is that you might not think your gonna go big, but you never know. So you might as well get a real good "Head Job"...lol, while your doing the work.

Here's a link to one of the better places I know of and for the service and type of porting, its a damn good deal. Compare them to Extrude Hone. http://www.protuning.com/products.html
