Head unit woes

Okay, I’m on my third head unit now. I put the head unit utilizing a wiring harness. I was left over with a speaker amplifier and a radio ground. I had no sound. I put two new pioneer 6.5 front speakers about 4 months ago. so after some searching I read about speaker amplifiers. so I tried by passing the "active" amplifier in the front speakers by matching: the blue w/yellow front left neg - the blue w/white front left pos +the brown w/white stripe is front right pos +the solid brown is front right neg -I still have no sound!Oh and it’s a 93 S13 SE. Thanks in advance
