You need to remove:

1)Shift boot panel2)Climate control cluster3)Center dash including the gauge cluster, cubby hole/navi compartment

Then you disconnect the climate control module unbolt 2 screws that hold it in place and remove. Unbolt 4 screws that hold the HU's mounting bracket and the whole thing pops out.

If you can figure out how to remove the knob, all you have to do, from what i can see, is to remove the aluminum (colored) ring around your shifter (with a flat head) and pop the panel out (like what soup did). The panel should clear the shifter without the knob on it. I advise to put some tape on the location where you plan to use the flat head so it doesn't scratch your plastic.

You ask for help, someone tries to help you, then you flame them.

You owe xjm an apology.

This thread is full of FAIL! No reason to take it to that level. Take this as a warning.
