Head unit problems in the 200

so i bought a "pioneer" head unit, and i installed it with a buddy of mine, but i dont think it fits all the way... I bent the clips down and shoved it in, but when i put the plastic cover back on the car, it(the head unit) stuck out about a quater of an inch, and the face plate didn't fit on the head unit beacuse the plastic from the cover did not allow it. Are cerian head units compadable with certian cars, or is it all universal? any suggestion?

You need a dash adapter kit. Search for it on Google based on your year/model.

The HU will stick out a little, especially with the faceplate on, even with the adapter. You get used to it.
